Some hotels have a special effect on us, the Cotton House is such a place. This is one of the most beautifully designed hotels in Barcelona. The hotel stands imposingly on the site of the former headquarters of the Cotton Textile Foundation “Fundación Textil Algodonera”, an emblematic 19th-century building in the neoclassical style which is a landmark in the city of Barcelona.
Location, location
The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, in the Eixample district. Almost everything is walkable from here, including Gaudi’s Casa Batllo, the Gothic Quarter and the Ramblas. The chique shopping street Passeig de Gracia is just a short walk away and the beach area a 35 minute stroll away.
Cotton rooms
The rooms are light, fresh and revitalising. With subtle artwork reflecting variations of the cotton plant. Although most rooms are compact, they just have everything you need for a luxurious stay. We loved the cozy balcony with view over the beautiful terrace. It was the perfect place to start the morning with a coffee or end the day with a glass of wine! Rooms take their names from different cottons, and only the finest cottons will be found in your room. Bath amenities from the exclusive Italian brand Ortigia are just the best.
Elegant restaurant
The Cotton House’s elegant restaurant, Batuar, is centred around a beautiful freestanding bar under an old-fashioned conservatory. The ambience is a reflection of the spirit of the hotel: a certain colonial flavour, sophisticated, discreet, elegant and at the same time fresh. You just feel like you’re in a glossy magazine when stepping inside!
In summer enjoying some tapas and gin tonics on the beautiful terrace is a very tempting plan you cannot afford to miss. Breakfast is not just breakfast here. With a great variety, beautiful presentation and fresh ingredients we could have this delicious breakfast all day long.
Library with history
Behind the restaurant you’ll find a special place called the library. This is one of the rooms that the members of the Cotton Producers Guild used for meetings and as a social club. Here you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea. Next door, the L’Atelier, offers bespoke tailoring services from Santa Eulalia upon request.
Rooftop pool
The rooftop is small, but perfect for a relaxing afternoon after touring the city all day. Here you can find a splunge pool with luxury sunbeds. The rooftop overlooks the busy streets below and there’s even a view across to the world-famous Sagrada Familia.
All in the details
Staff members are friendly, proud and happy to help in any way possible. They´ll tell you all about the history of the hotel or where to go in Barcelona. They even left us a beautiful drawing of Barcelona on the mirror in our room. It´s just all in the details!
Magical stay
Historic charm combined with modern luxury. For a magical, chic Barcelona experience, the Cotton House Hotel is just the place to stay!
